Questions / Réponses
1 – iF I increase my 125cc engine’s power output, what extra speed will I obtain?
Answer: There are many ways of increasing an engine’s power output, depending on the results you want. The power output does not mean anything unless it relates to an engine speed in rpm.

If I modify my engine, can I ride on the road nevertheless?
Answer: Absolutely not; this is forbidden. You must ride only on private circuits closed to public traffic, or on private property.
To ride on the public highway, you must make a homologation request yourself and then present the vehicle to the department’s homologation authority (“service des mines”), or else be a motorcycle club member, be licensed, and ride on the private land generally available to club members.
3-
Can I dismantle and modify my engine myself?
Answer: Everything is possible, but some technical knowledge and equipment is needed to dismantle and reassemble a four-stroke engine, in order to adjust the timing.
It is simpler to dismantle and reassemble a two-stroke engine, but tuning the carburation is more tricky and extremely important.
Technical reviews and workshop manuals are commercially available.
If you have doubts, we recommend asking a professional to perform the work.
4 - If I modify my engine, is there a warranty?
Answer: No, that is impossible. Manufacturers’ warranties are issued and applied by their service networks, and are subject to very strict limitations.
In the case of replacement parts that are fitted unaccompanied and used without checks and with no detailed governing framework, it is impossible. People who say otherwise are either liars or philanthropists.
5 -
Will my engine be able to withstand a large torque increase at low revs without breaking?
Answer: All Japanese, Chinese and Korean 125cc engines are sized to withstand a large increase in torque without problem. In forty years, we have never had a single engine that has had problems at low revs, even after the torque has been greatly increased.
As an experiment, we have a Yamaha four-stroke 125cc TTR engine that has been running perfectly and without problem for a very long time, with a cylinder capacity of 246cc (in other words, double the original cylinder capacity), the original crankcase and all the maximum options (HP camshaft + 26 carburettor + exhaust + 11,000 rpm electronic unit, etc.) producing an additional 20 hp. It runs like a sewing machine, and never has a problem.
